Drummond 30th March 2020

I have known Peter as a friend, work mate and neighbour for 50 years. He was a trainee in the sound department at Samuelson Film Services when I first met him in 1970. He subsequently worked for me on many productions and was always around at the end of the day to enjoy a glass of beer in The Prince of Wales in Highgate Village, our local. Peter always had a smile on his face and had a story to tell. He dinned out on one particular story. I took him to record a commentary with HRH Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. We were stopped at the front gates because my rubbish car was full of junk. I was in the middle of moving house. Security made us unload it blocking the entrance. A large limo pulled up behind us, a certain royal was surprised to be told that this dubious pair were visiting the Prince. Peter enjoyed the tea that was laid on for us while we waited for HRH to finish an investiture. Peter joins many dear friends from Dad's Army.
